Prof. Mohanasankar Sivaprakasam
Dr. Mohanasankar Sivaprakasam, Professor of Electrical Engineering at IIT Madras, is a leader in affordable healthcare technologies. He founded the Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre (SGBC) and the Healthcare Technology Innovation Centre (HTIC), publishing 350+ papers (h-index 41; 6,096 citations). HTIC, India's leading med-tech ecosystem, unites 40+ institutions and industries to develop affordable healthcare solutions, impacting 13 million people across ophthalmology, diagnostics, patient monitoring, and endoscopy, with a projected reach of 50 million in five years. Its incubator has supported 60+ startups, one-third revenue-generating, across digital health, VR training, telemedicine, predictive diagnostics, and AI-driven healthcare. Professor Mohansankar has been honored with the Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar 2025 in the Vigyan Yuva category for his pioneering work in affordable medical devices and brain mapping.

Dr. Jaikishan Jayakumar was a Neurobiologist at the Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre and the Center for Computational Brain Research, IIT Madras. He studies the network organization of brain circuits and how neuronal networks give rise to perception, attention, and vision. His experimental research spans mice, macaques, marmosets, cats, and humans, addressing fundamental questions in neural circuitry and function.

Dr. Richa Verma
Dr. Richa Verma has been Chief Scientific Officer at the Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre, IIT Madras, since 2020. She established a whole-brain multimodal platform and led the development of the recently released second-trimester human brain atlas. Her research focuses on cellular aspects of human brain development, with broader experience in systems neuroscience, retinal electrophysiology, and higher-education curriculum design. She completed her PhD at the University of Melbourne and postdoctoral training at Monash University, studying visual system plasticity in non-human primates.

Keerthi Ram is a Computer Engineer with research expertise in medical image processing. He has led collaborative projects in big image data analytics, systems development, and computational optimization. His work maps medical imaging problems to machine learning techniques, including regression, anomaly detection, self-supervised, and unsupervised learning. At the Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre, he has customized an open-source software stack for image and volumetric visualization, enabling high-resolution rendering of whole-brain data to thin-client web applications, as well as multimodal image data processing and curation.

Sivathanu Neelakantan is a Technology Leader and Software Architect with 28+ years of experience in software and hardware engineering across neuroscience, biomedical engineering, and network management. He designs distributed, high-performance systems handling petabyte-scale datasets, with end-to-end pipelines, parallel processing, secure access, and integration with HPC and cloud. Using microservices, RESTful APIs, and asynchronous data flows, his solutions are reliable, scalable, and fault-tolerant. At the Sudha Gopalakrishnan Brain Centre, IIT Madras, he architected Parallel File Systems, high-speed networking, and hybrid CPU-GPU platforms, enabling efficient processing of massive complex datasets and advancing high-throughput neuroscience research
